Gopal Engineering Works was founded in 2000 as a professionally managed, direct manufacturer of air shafts and rubber rollers. The workshop sits at D-4, Dev Estate, Piplaj Pirana Road, Ahmedabad 382405 — in the heart of the industrial belt the company has served for more than 25 years.
Everything happens under one roof. Engineering, rubber compounding, bonding, grinding, balancing, hard-chrome plating, and final inspection — no sub-contracting, no middlemen. When a roller leaves this workshop, it has been built, checked, and approved by the same team that made it.
The approach is build-to-drawing. Every job starts with the customer's specification: diameter, face length, core material, rubber compound, Shore hardness, surface finish. The engineering is done here; the roller is made here; the inspection is done here.
Today the workshop builds across eleven product lines — air shafts (lug, multi-tube, expanding, core/roller shafts, rubber tubes, brass valves), hard-chrome, mild steel, anilox, expander, conveyor, idler and ebonite rollers, rubber rollers (nitrile, neoprene, silicone, PU, synthetic), and sleeves (air expander, friction/differential, adapter, FRP, rubber-coated) — for customers in plastic, printing, packaging, paper, textile, lamination, converting and steel industries across India.
In addition to new manufacture, the workshop offers reconditioning, re-rubbering and re-chroming of worn rollers — extending service life and reducing replacement cost for customers running continuous production lines.
The final inspection on every roller is carried out by technically sound engineers — not a sign-off, but an actual dimensional, hardness and balance check against the original drawing.
25+ years of in-house manufacturing in Ahmedabad — engineering, compounding, grinding, plating and inspection without sub-contracting.
We design, build, inspect and ship from a single Ahmedabad workshop. No traders, no intermediaries — you deal with the people who made the roller.
Every roller starts with your drawing or specification. Diameter, face length, compound, hardness, finish — engineered to what you need, not to a catalogue.
Dimensional accuracy, Shore hardness across the full face, concentricity, and dynamic balance are checked in-house before any roller ships.
Worn rollers are reconditioned, re-rubbered or re-chromed in the same workshop. Faster turnaround, lower cost than full replacement.
A small, hands-on team in Ahmedabad — from the shop floor to the front office.

He keeps the shop to one rule: the roller has to run true, and the cover has to hold up. Every job leaves the Ahmedabad workshop measured against it.

05The standards every roller is held to before it leaves the workshop. Inspection is carried out by technically sound, experienced engineers.
Every roller is built to drawing — diameter, length, concentricity. Stage-wise checks ensure dimensions hold through grinding and balancing.
The compound is chosen for the job — abrasion, temperature, chemical resistance. Nine polymer families on hand: Nitrile, EPDM, PU, Silicone, Neoprene, Natural, Hypalon, Viton, Butyl.
Hardness is checked across the full face of the roller, not just at the ends. The Shore A reading is consistent end-to-end, every time.
The rubber bonds to the core through a controlled adhesion process — so the cover holds under load, heat and continuous run.
Every batch of compound is tested for tensile strength and elongation before it touches a core. No surprises in the field.
Rollers are dynamically balanced before they ship — and the compound is formulated for low compression set so the roller stays round under continuous nip pressure.
Quotes go out fast and lead times are honoured. Repair work is treated with the same urgency as new build.
